RateGenius opened its doors in Austin in 1999 with a simple goal: Help drivers keep more of their hard-earned money by making auto-loan refinancing straightforward and transparent. What began as a small, customer-focused team working with a handful of local credit unions soon evolved into a technology-driven marketplace that now partners with more than 150 lenders nationwide. Along the way, we have funded over 400,000 refinanced loans and surpassed $8.5 billion in total auto-loan volume, putting real savings back into family budgets across the country.

In 2021 we joined forces with Denver-based AUTOPAY, forming The Savings Group - uniting two best-in-class platforms under one roof so borrowers can shop a wider range of offers while still receiving the same down-to-earth guidance that has defined RateGenius from day one.
